Flavour, drawn from Somerset
Working from the middle of the Somerset countryside means the best ingredients are often just outside the door. Fruit is picked at its seasonal best and frozen straight away, so a strawberry cake in December can still taste like the height of summer. Honey, cider, butter and eggs come from the farmers and producers this part of the world happens to do so well.
It means your cake carries a little of Somerset in it, whatever season you marry in.

Red Seal trained pastry chef and shaped by years in five-star kitchens, I’m now based in Somerset and still happiest with flour on my hands and something in the oven.

Every cake and dessert started somewhere: my grandmother’s kitchen, the pastry section at the Four Seasons Hotel, and a lot of early mornings learning how to make something taste as good as it looks.
Named Wedding Cake Designer of the Year at the South West Wedding Awards 2025, Lydia is also a preferred or recommended supplier at venues including The Newt, Crowcombe Court, Pennard House, The Roman Baths and Everards Farm, and Bath Historic Venues.
