Afternoon tea at the Roman Baths

Afternoon Tea

Sandwiches, scones and a stand of sweet things, put together for weddings, hen dos, and any afternoon worth slowing down for.

Every spread starts with an idea. A sandwich devoured before anyone reaches the cake stand, a freshly baked scone from a family recipe, or a filling remembered from a childhood holiday.

Savoury bites and sandwiches sit beside scones, homemade jam and clotted cream, finished with sweets built around what’s local, seasonal and worth eating.

Afternoon tea sandwiches

Savouries

Smoked salmon with cream cheese, capers and lemon on granary. Wiltshire ham with homemade Somerset apple chutney. Juniper and venison sausage rolls with seasonal piccalilli. Roast beef, horseradish and rocket on rye. Each sandwich and savoury bite is shaped around what's local, in season and what makes you smile.

Afternoon tea scones

Scones & preserves

A classic fruited scone with jam and clotted cream, or a savoury version shaped to your own taste. It's usually the scones guests remember first.

Afternoon tea desserts

Sweets

Lemon and elderflower meringue tartlets. Dark chocolate and woodland berry opera cake. Rose madeleines. Cherry and dark chocolate tarts. Raspberry brownies with sea salt. Every sweet on the stand is chosen with you.

Some stay close to the classics.

Others grow into a full grazing table, with a pavlova centrepiece, a cake for cutting, salads beside the sandwiches and plenty to come back to throughout the afternoon. It starts with the same conversation, just a longer table by the time the day arrives.
