Wedding Cakes and Dessert Tables

Seasonal, bespoke designs inspired by Somerset

I’m Lydia, a Somerset-based pastry chef and cake designer specialising in bespoke wedding cakes, dessert tables, afternoon tea, and grazing-style celebrations.

My work is rooted in seasonality and flavour, with designs that feel considered, personal, and suited to each couple and their setting. Whether you’re drawn to a traditional tiered cake or something more relaxed and alternative, everything is designed around how you want your wedding to feel.

This page is a snapshot of my work, to give you a sense of my style and approach.

WEDDING CAKES

My wedding cakes are designed with flavour first, finished in a range of styles from soft fondant to textured buttercream and vintage-inspired detailing.

Designs can be minimal or decorative, with decoration kept intentional and balanced.

Cakes can be finished with fresh flowers supplied by your florist or with handmade sugar flowers, depending on the look you are drawn to.

All wedding cakes are bespoke and designed around your guest numbers, venue, and overall styling.

DESSERT TABLES AND ALTERNATIVES TO CAKE

For couples who prefer something less traditional, I also create dessert tables and shared dessert displays. These can sit alongside a small cutting cake or replace a wedding cake entirely, offering guests a choice of seasonal desserts.

Dessert tables are styled and set up on site, with menus tailored to the time of year and the style of your celebration.

Desserts are ingredient-led and may include:

  • Tarts

  • Mousses

  • Madeleines

  • Choux-style bakes

  • Tiramisu-style desserts

  • Seasonal fruit-based puddings

AFTERNOON TEA AND GRAZING-STYLE MENUS

I also offer afternoon tea and grazing-style menus for weddings, elopements, and smaller celebrations. These work particularly well for relaxed receptions, drinks receptions, or intimate guest numbers.

Menus are designed to be seasonal and balanced, and setups are fully styled and presented on site.
