THE PROCESS FOR BOOKING YOUR SOMERSET INSPIRED DESSERT TABLES, AFTERNOON TEA OR GRAZING

Each table is designed to bring together flavour, artistry, and atmosphere, creating a memorable focal point for weddings and celebrations. Whether you are planning a full dessert display, a Somerset-inspired afternoon tea, or a grazing table layered with savoury and sweet details, every setup is created with the same care and craftsmanship as a bespoke wedding cake.

From first enquiry through to delivery and styling on the day, the process is designed to feel simple, personal, and well organised, ensuring your table fits seamlessly into the wider flow of your celebration.

Step One: The Enquiry

The process begins with an enquiry through the website form, where you can share your date, venue, guest numbers, and the style of table you are interested in. Enquiries can also be made via email or Instagram, though the enquiry form is the most effective way to check availability and keep all details in one place.

Once availability has been confirmed, a clear overview of the process is sent alongside a short questionnaire. This gathers information about your event, preferences, and practical requirements so an initial price guide can be provided.

All enquiries are replied to within 48 hours. Messages received on a Friday are usually answered after the weekend.

Step Two: Securing Your Date

A non-refundable £50 booking fee secures your date in the diary. This fee covers the time required to reserve your date and begin planning your table and is not deducted from the final balance.

Once the date is secured, you will be invited to book an initial consultation via Zoom. This informal conversation allows us to discuss your event, venue, and how the table will work within the wider styling and timings of the day.

Step Three: Consultation and Design

During the consultation, we will talk through your ideas, preferred menu style, and any visual or seasonal inspiration you would like to include. From there, the concept is refined to suit your venue, guest numbers, and practical considerations.

You may choose from set menus for dessert tables, afternoon tea, or grazing, or opt for a fully custom menu curated for your event.

Custom menus are developed around your preferred flavours, produce, and overall aesthetic, using Somerset ingredients wherever possible.

Follow-up communication continues by email to confirm final details and any adjustments, ensuring everything feels clear and cohesive ahead of your celebration.

Step Four: Delivery and Setup

All tables are personally delivered and set up on the day of your event. Depending on the size and complexity of the display, setup typically takes between one and two hours.

Full table styling is available as an optional additional service and may include florals, linens, serveware, signage, and display elements designed to complement your venue and overall styling.

In the week leading up to the event, communication takes place directly with your venue coordinator, planner, or florist to confirm access, timings, and placement details.

Delivery is available across Somerset and the South of England, with travel further afield available on request.

Step Five: After the Event

All allergen sheets, handover notes, and setup guidance are provided to your venue or catering team. Any hired items can be returned easily by post or via next-day collection using the provided packaging.

Packaging is kept minimal and eco-conscious, using recyclable or biodegradable materials wherever possible.

Investment

Each table is designed to order, with a minimum spend of £600.

Final pricing is based on guest numbers, menu selection, styling requirements, and the level of service involved. This approach ensures every table receives the same level of care, attention, and quality as a bespoke wedding cake.

Quotes are tailored individually to reflect the scope and complexity of your event.

Adding a Cake to Your Table

Many couples choose to include a cutting cake or tiered centrepiece alongside their dessert table, afternoon tea, or grazing display. This allows you to enjoy the tradition of a cake-cutting moment while keeping the table abundant and visually balanced.

The cake can be designed to complement your chosen menu, echoing flavours, finishes, and seasonal details for a cohesive overall display.

Learn more about how your cake can be designed to pair with your table on the Wedding Cakes page.
